Light the candles

One day closer

Mary on donkey rides along the light

Say our prayers, she whispers "amen"

"Rejoice!" she sings with tiny voice

Blow, blow, blow the candles out

House in darkness

But for tiny Advent lights

Waiting for our coming King

Lights up the stairs

Twenty little candles

Burning bright and small

Just like the innocent smiles

That once walked down those halls

Advent is Here

We went Christmas tree cutting with the Bruckarts once again. Ella and Elsie had a blast helping out - holding hands as they went. Ella was not content unless she was by Elsie's side. We each found beautiful Canaan Firs. Jack was especially keen on finding the RIGHT tree for each family.

The tree is now up, and in honor of the advent season we have put lights and garlands up. The first hymns of the season were sung today in church. My soul is always filled during this time of year.
