20 Months

Starting to jump. Especially loves hopping on the bed, then flopping as fast as she can.
Signs "wind"
Loves boots
Really enjoys drawing with Ella (today she told me she was writing an "E" - that's what Ella always says)
Asks "why?" mostly when distraught, so it's a long, drawn out, tearful "wwwhhhhhhy?!"
Hitting when she doesn't get her way, but learning to give love and make it right
Very defensive of her space around other babies. For some reason all the baby friends her age love the take everything from her. Now if she sees one, she cowers over whatever she has and yells "No!" preemptively.
Obsessed with her Grampa "Bapa". At the beach she would run to him, even if it'd just been 10 minutes. She'd sit on his lap every morning while he had breakfast.
She liked Gramma, Didi and Uncle Boing too. :)
She really quite adept at her pretend play now, doesn't even need initiating from Ella
Generally so happy and strong and fun
Saying "I did it!" (quite annunciated too!)
Draw stripes on her face and said "I a tiyer!"
Also says "I don't know"
Begs for Kombucha and makes some attempt at pronouncing it - "oowa"
Sings "Away In A Manger" as best she can at bedtime. Signs "sleep", "baby" and "stars" where appropriate, and always finishes off with a resounding Great Amen!

16 Months

You wave at everyone as we walk by, like a Miss America.
You are trying to jump and skip.
You are taking your naps by yourself, though they don't last very long. It's a nice change.
When you wake up you walk out to come find me (often crying). It's quite adorable. Though you always go to the bathroom first to find me - do you think that's my hang out place?
You take your clothes off and work hard to get them back on. You are a very savvy little bum wiper.
You've started saying "mammy" and "babby" instead of "mama" and "baba".
You love dirt and flowers and sticks.
You still love babies and will often snuggle one as you go to sleep.
This month you've been cutting all the molars.
You like to help to help: mow, put things away, get Ella or me to stand up or put our clothes on.
You help us sing The Great Amen at bedtime: "Aaaaaaaaaaaa!"
You go around and give us all hugs and kisses before snuggling down to sleep.
You are a very clear communicator, though you don't use words or signs too much. You cry in sentences that you've usurped from Ella "I'm ready!" "I'm hungry!" "Mama where are you?" "I don't want to!" And while you love people, you also like your "just being" time. I wonder you're more of an introvert or creative highly sensitive person. What will you've like, Little?

15 Months

Saying "water bottle",
Lots of hitting, smacking and scratching.
You MUST have your own plate and utensil at meal.
You love seeing animals, especially dogs and birds. "Dahdy dahdy!" "Buh! Buh!"
Quite good at wiping up your own spills or accidents (with help of course!)
Your favorite book is Hop On Pop. You love the "All tall, we all are tall" pages, and excitedly sign "ball". "Pat sat on hat" is your other favorite part.
You love to see animals, but do not like them near you. However, your self defense against them is pretty awesome: First yell at it, then push it away, then run to Mama.
You love trying to put your shoes on and take them off again (same with clothes....you're often only half in your clothes).
You are still our little snuggler and you love giving hugs and kisses.

14 months

You love your belly button and say "bweh-bweh!" whenever you find it. You love other people's belly buttons too.
You're quite adamant about prayer and holding hands before meals.
You love books.
You love to hold my hand while we walk.

13 Months

Pointing to eyes, noses and ears of us and baby dolls
You bit your god sister Rosemary on the head. Will you be a biter or was it just an experimentation?
You love dancing and trying to march and jump
Playing on the piano is newfound interest that you really enjoy
It seems as though you are trying to sing the Amen at bed time, and you like holding hands now when we pray at meals
Getting a little more savvy at using spoons and forks and sippy cups
Still have just four little teeth!
You snuggle up with Ella for your first sleep of the night - Mama's enjoying your longer sleep cycles

12 Months

New signs: "hat", working on "book" and "please"
Oh how happy you are, little Birthday Bird!
You are sweet and affectionate: you love giving kisses and hugs to us and baby dolls. You like to come in for a quick snuggle and then go back to your explorations
Intense as always - either very happy or very sad
You love carrying around a baby doll or stuffed animal
You love shaking your head as fast as you can, which usually makes you fall down
You are trying SO HARD to jump. It's hysterically adorable
Up and up has been your motus operandis the past few weeks. You love climbing the stools to get as high as possible. Playing in the sink is a new favorite (and very helpful while Mama is cooking!)
Books are a new favorite. One day you spent probably 45 minutes just looking at books while Mama read a long story to Ella
You and Ella are beginning to play together. You've learned how to pretend eat food when she's playing kitchen. Of course there are still lots of bumps, bruises, pushes and learning of how to share.
Learning how to use utinsels at the dinner table, and whenever food is out in front of you blow on it.
Blowing farts on Mama's belly still brings much laughter to you
You have a squealy, bubbly giggle that we adore
You loved your birthday cake and even tried to have your feet help you eat it.

Such a busy month. Walking so strong and fast and LOVING it.

Tiny little lungs, great big sounds!
Is obsessed with carrying an object in each hand and putting objects into bags or cups.
Popped through two teeth - a bottom tooth and an upper incisor. Little snaggle-tooth baby.
Loves pointing to eyes, noses and mouths on people and dolls.
Waves to people as they walk by. Also randomly signs "milk" at people.
Enjoys leading us around the house by a finger, getting into trash cans, and throwing things in the toilet.

10 Months

Walking. She Is Walking! Halfway across the room. Wants to go faster but can't. She is smitten with her newfound skill. And she looks just like a baby bird when she's catching her balance because she throws her little arms back so they look like little wings.

Loves pointing at interesting things, particularly the Christmas lights. Her three favorite pastimes are: carrying babydolls while walking, putting small objects into containers, and crawling all over pillows to lounge on them or roll off them.

Woke up one morning and pointed at me, "Mama. Baba." and then pointed at Josh "Dah." She is jabbering SO much. This girl has tons to say.

Starting to interact so much more with Ella. They played for about an hour together one day in the pillows. Just lounging and giggling. I was able to vacuum happily.

Loves the sled.

Her eyes just gleam when she sees her daddy. A nice change from baby Ella, who didn't really like Daddy until 2.

Giggles at and hugs babydolls.
